Announcing “General Assembly” September 24th – 29th, 2013

GENERAL ASSEMBLY has been called!

This is a 6-day interactive event celebrating a collision of people and ideas at the future cSPACE King Edward. (1720 – 30th Avenue SW)

cSPACE is reimagining the tradition of a GENERAL ASSEMBLY at the century-old King Edward School. But this creative gathering is nothing like what you remember from junior high! For several weeks this summer, cSPACE opened up the former King Edward School as a ‘triage’ centre for artists, galleries, collectors, and non-profits who were impacted by the flood. After hundreds of canvases and sculptural works of arts have been restored, spirits reinvigorated and studios reclaimed, it’s time to celebrate!

We’re bringing together a unique collision of people and ideas through a 6-day interactive event at the future cSPACE King Edward. Fashion, art, community and music are all connected in one special place, providing a glimpse of what cSPACE envisions for this historic sandstone school.

General Assembly collaborators include:

Phantom Wing (September 24th – 29th)
A pre-demolition project organized by the independent artist-curators behind Wreck City and The House Project. Seventeen artists/collectives are creating large-scale installations within the abandoned 1950s addition of the school. More information at
